Print Method

Our standard print method for all custom tags is pad printing, but we also offer custom tags via screen printing and heat transfer. All three methods have their pros and cons.

Pad printing is efficient from a material standpoint after creating the plates and they're pretty quick to print in comparison to screen and transfer tags. Pad printed tags can also hold great detail from an image clarity standpoint. However, size and color is limited here to a max of 2.5" x 2.5" and basic colors: black, tonal white, and medium grey.

Screen printed tags are less efficient from a time and material standpoint, but offer a larger range of both color and print size with a maximum size of 4" x 4".

Heat transfer tags are our default for all fleece garments such as hoodies and pullovers as it provides the most image clarity on a fleecy fabric. Another benefit here is the print can be unlimited colors, but the cost is much higher because of the time required with transfers. Maximum image size is 4" x 4".

Ink Colors for Custom T Shirt Tag Printing

Standard ink color options for tag printing are black and tonal (think the shirt color mixed with white). Custom ink colors are available via a $25 custom mixing fee and carry a minimum requirement of 250 pieces.

Recommended Information

‍We recommend including the following information in your tag art: Company Name, RN#, Fabric Contents, Country of Origin, and Care Instructions.

Font Size

Keep tag art moderately bold. The minimum type size recommended is 3 points for pad printing and 6 points for screen printed or heat transfer tags. We can go smaller, but anything less than what’s recommended may not be legible, depending on your shirt style, ink type, and color used. Minimum Quantities

Our minimum order for tag printing is 20 pieces per design. How the sizes are broken down is completely up to you. For example: 12 SM, 24 MD, 24 LG, and 12 XL. Should you decide to change the garment style on your order, you’ll be required to purchase a minimum of 72 pieces for that second style to qualify for tag printing. Varying fabric blends that require new tags will also need a minimum of 72 pieces. You will be priced at the 72 quantity tag printing, not the overall total of your order.

Tearaway Tags

If your shirts come with tearaway tags, we do not charge to tear those out. Please be aware that tear-away tags will sometimes leave small pieces of the tag still in the shirt seam. If you do not pay for tag removal, we are not liable to remove all pieces of the tag should some remain in the seam. If you want them unsewn for removal, thus eliminating the chance of the tearaway remnants, standard removal fees and turnarounds apply.

Tag Removal

Please add +3 days to your turnaround for the removal of sewn manufacturer tag. Not all seam styles are the same and therefore not all sewn-in tags remove the same way.

Ink Changes

‍Ink changes are not allowed on tag prints.

Multiple Color Tag Art

‍If you want to have multiple ink colors in your tag art, there is a 2,000 piece minimum and it is custom priced. Please contact us for details.

Custom Tag Printing Placement

‍There is a 0.5” placement allowance in any direction on tag prints.
